Rear drain toilets
- Drainage: Rear drain toilets have a drain located at the back of the toilet and connected to a drain pipe in the wall.
- Environments: This design is often used in modern buildings or in bathrooms where saving floor space is desired. A wall-draining toilet makes the bathroom look neater and makes it easier to clean the floor.
- Installation Complexity: The installation of a Wall Vent Toilet is complicated due to the need to install the drain pipe inside the wall, which requires specialised construction and sturdy wall support.
Floor-Mounted Toilets
- Drainage method: the drain of the floor-draining toilet is located at the bottom of the toilet and is directly connected to the drain pipe under the floor.
- Environment: This type of drainage is more common in many residential buildings, especially in traditional buildings or homes that already have floor drains.
- Ease of installation: Floor drains are usually simple to install and are suitable for most standard domestic drainage systems.
Bowl Shape
- Round Bowl: Traditional shape, suitable for smaller bathrooms due to its compact size.
- Elongated Bowl: Longer shape, offering more sitting area and greater comfort, ideal for larger bathrooms.
- Square Bowl: Modern design, less common, often used in uniquely designed bathrooms.
- Compact Elongated Bowl: Small bathrooms where space is limited but users want the comfort of an elongated bowl.
Height
- Standard Height:
- Height: Generally between 15 to 16 inches from the floor to the top of the seat.
- Suitable for: Most adults, especially those who are shorter or prefer lower seating.
- Comfort Height:
- Height: Generally between 17 to 19 inches from the floor to the top of the seat.
